What happened: Utah moved from fourth to second in the lottery to take Kansas guard Darryn Peterson. The camp focus is a young group developing together into the Delta Center reopening.

Why it matters: Peterson gives Utah a play-ready creator as camp cuts to Mohamed Wague and Terrell Brown Jr. cleared backcourt minutes. The Oct. 21 trip to Memphis opens the test of that timeline.

What to watch: Rotation battles and Peterson's preseason usage decide the opening-night hierarchy.
