What happened: Jeffery Simmons earned game ball honors after he logged a sack on the first play of his Chicago Bears debut. The interior lineman provided immediate disruption off the line of scrimmage against Seattle. His presence bolstered the defensive front throughout the contest.

Why it matters: Chicago committed two first-round draft picks to acquire Simmons from Tennessee ahead of the deadline to solidify its defensive core. Early production on high-leverage downs immediately rewards that draft investment as the team contends in the NFC. Solidifying interior penetration fundamentally shifts protection schemes away from edge rushers.

What to watch: Chicago prepares for its next regular-season matchup as Simmons takes on a larger share of defensive snaps. The coaching staff continues evaluating interior line rotations.
