What happened: Jerry Wilson wore a microphone during his son's first NBA preseason game, saying he could barely put into words his excitement to see him back on the floor while urging him to 'take flight one time.' The outing marked the first preseason test with Chicago for the same Caleb Wilson who pitched the Bulls with 'I'm your guy' before the draft.

Why it matters: Chicago evaluated Wilson's pure jump shot, mentality, and broader skill set throughout July sessions after welcoming him in late June. Logging preseason minutes moves him from offseason evaluation to the threshold of the regular-season schedule.

What to watch: The Bulls open their 2026-27 regular-season campaign against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
