What happened: Winnipeg enters the scheduled Heritage Classic matchup against the Montreal Canadiens following the trade that sent goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils. The completed deal also brought Alexander Command and Nick Bjugstad to the roster alongside draft picks, ending prolonged uncertainty around the crease.

Why it matters: Moving Hellebuyck ahead of the outdoor showcase resolves a roster overhang that lingered into the regular season. With Daws in the fold and Mercer, Bjugstad and Command joining the forward group, the club shifts its focus to on-ice execution.

What to watch: The Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens meet in the scheduled Heritage Classic matchup with the score at 0-0 prior to puck drop.
