Hard work 🦾 With this bucket, Jewell Loyd has passed Katie Smith on the all‑time field goals made list, moving into 20t Via @WNBA on X

What happened: Jewell Loyd moved into 20th place on the WNBA's all-time field goals made list, passing Katie Smith with a bucket during Friday's game between Chicago and Las Vegas. The milestone came in the flow of live action as Loyd continued to add to her career scoring ledger.

Why it matters: Passing a Hall of Famer like Katie Smith cements Loyd's standing among the most prolific scorers in league history, and she keeps moving up the career charts in her first season with Las Vegas. It is her second all-time-list storyline in recent weeks, after A'ja Wilson passed Loyd for 15th on the WNBA's all-time scoring list in late June.

By the numbers: Loyd now ranks 20th in WNBA history in career field goals made, moving ahead of Katie Smith. On June 24, she was passed by A'ja Wilson for 15th on the league's all-time scoring list, underscoring how tightly bunched the historic leaderboards are around her.

What to watch: Watch how quickly Loyd can climb toward the next names above her on the field goals list as the 2026 regular season continues into July.
