What happened: New York turned the offense over to McCarthy during Sunday's in-progress regular-season matchup, per Ian Rapoport.

Why it matters: The appearance gives the coaching staff a live evaluation of the quarterback the Giants acquired in late September to reshape their depth chart.

What to watch: How McCarthy handles the remainder of the contest will determine whether the change is a single-game adjustment or a broader shift on the depth chart.
