A player health update presented by @emoryhealthcare for tonight’s game at Charlotte: Jock Landale (nasal fracture): Av Via @ATLHawks on X

What happened: Atlanta cleared center Jock Landale to play through a nasal fracture on Friday night after he stayed in Wednesday's opener following a fall under the basket. Forward Mouhamed Gueye remains sidelined by a left foot fracture from July surgery, and center Henri Veesaar is out with a torn right ACL.

Why it matters: Landale's availability keeps Atlanta's interior rotation intact while both frontcourt reserves recover from long-term lower-body injuries. The veteran center is playing on a one-year, $14 million deal that gives the club a movable contract ahead of the trade deadline.

By the numbers: Atlanta enters Friday's matchup at 1-0 after defeating the Orlando Magic 132-125 on Wednesday. Gueye and Veesaar have now been ruled out for each of the first two games of the 2026-27 regular season.

What to watch: Tipoff in Charlotte is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday as Atlanta wraps up its season-opening two-game road trip.
