What happened: The Minnesota Twins celebrated "Pop Star Night" at Target Field this weekend, integrating a Taylor Swift theme into their series against the Kansas City Royals. The festivities featured friendship bracelet giveaways and a post-game fireworks display set to the singer's hits, while pitcher Joe Ryan recorded his 800th career strikeout during Saturday's 3-2 loss.

Why it matters: Ryan's milestone highlights his continued emergence as the anchor of the Minnesota rotation, reaching the mark in his fifth major league season. Despite the personal achievement and festive atmosphere, the loss leaves the Twins 6.0 games back in an American League Central race currently led by the Cleveland Guardians.

What to watch: The Twins conclude their three-game set against the Royals on Sunday with Connor Prielipp scheduled to take the mound.
