What happened: The goal came short-handed during Oct. 1 preseason action.

Why it matters: Short-handed goals remain among the rarest in-game contributions. The tally arrived with NHL clubs finalizing rosters for the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Watch for final preseason cuts and penalty-kill assignments.
