What happened: Selemani initially earned a short-term MLS call-up with Vancouver in late July before securing a permanent senior deal through the 2029-30 season in September. His progression from the Alberta regional program adds another domestic graduate to the senior roster.

Why it matters: Vancouver has leaned on its developmental pipeline throughout 2026, including starting four academy graduates against Tigres in August and advancing fellow prospect Rayan Elloumi. Signing Homegrown players to multi-year terms gives the club long-term roster continuity as it enters the 2026 MLS postseason.

What to watch: Selemani continues his integration with the senior squad as the Whitecaps open their 2026 MLS Cup Playoff schedule.
