What happened: Sporting KC's 'Behind The Shield' traces André Luiz's 'Lightning Luiz' surge following his arrival in Kansas City. After making his club debut at the end of August, the Brazilian attacker found the net in a 3-1 win and followed up by opening the scoring in an Oct. 2 road match.

Why it matters: Rapid integration from international signings is critical for roster continuity in MLS, and Luiz's immediate attacking output gave Sporting Blue a timely spark after his late-summer transition. His early scoring form established him as a regular contributor in Kansas City's rotation within six weeks of his debut.

What to watch: Luiz figures to remain a focal point of Sporting KC's attack heading into upcoming club preparations.
