What happened: Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Shedeur Sanders drew trade speculation after hiring an agent this week, mirroring a step that preceded Marvin Harrison Jr. being dealt. Jonathan Jones of The Athletic noted Saturday that moving Sanders does not make sense for Cleveland.

Why it matters: Sanders, listed second on the Browns' quarterback depth chart entering the regular season, provides Cleveland with cost-controlled depth as a fifth-round pick out of Colorado. Unlike Harrison's move earlier in October, parting with a backup quarterback on a fifth-round contract would strip Cleveland of affordable insurance under center.

What to watch: The NFL trade deadline falls on Nov. 10, leaving front offices less than four weeks to complete in-season deals.
