What happened: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones addressed facing a backup quarterback ahead of Monday night's game. Dallas enters at 2-4 after consecutive losses.

Why it matters: Dallas sits 12th in the conference order and needs a win to stay within reach. A short-handed opposing offense puts pressure on Dallas to avoid a third straight loss after the 13-23 defeat at Green Bay on Oct. 18.

By the numbers: Dallas Cowboys: 2-4, L2, No. 12 seed. Last game: 13-23 loss at Green Bay Packers Oct. 18.

What to watch: Monday night's result decides whether Dallas steadies before the deadline. A defeat stretches the skid to three with buying plans already stated.
