What happened: Carolina Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal enters Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights with a chance to secure the franchise's second championship. Staal has scored in every game of the series so far, leading all players with six goals through the first five contests.

Why it matters: A victory tonight would mark Carolina's first title since 2006 and cement a historic individual run for Jordan Staal. By scoring in five straight games, Staal tied the NHL record for the longest goal-scoring streak in a single Stanley Cup Final series. No player in NHL history has ever scored in six consecutive Final games in a single season, placing the veteran center on the doorstep of an unprecedented milestone.

What to watch: The Hurricanes look to lift the Cup on home ice tonight, while Vegas fights to force a winner-take-all Game 7. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 PM ET on ABC.
