Josh Allen's 2026 opening stretch makes the strongest case yet that he is the standard at quarterback

He has 98 wins through nine seasons and started 2026 with 9 touchdown passes against zero turnovers.

Josh Allen's 98 wins now rank 5th for a QB in his first nine seasons 👏 https://t.co/tCbuSqkilO

What happened: Yahoo Sports highlighted that Josh Allen's 98 wins rank fifth for a quarterback in his first nine seasons. Wire Report also noted that he opened 2026 with 9 touchdown passes and no turnovers through two games, a start only two others had matched before winning MVP.

Why it matters: Winning totals can be team driven, but stacking that many victories while opening a season with mistake-free production changes the argument. If Allen is combining top-end efficiency with Year 9 durability and results, it is fair to say nobody at the position has a better case right now.
