What happened: Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek were not seen preparing for Friday's practice with the Minnesota Wild. Both are day-to-day with lower-body injuries and ruled out for Saturday's game to avoid rushing them back. Kaprizov missed his first game of the season Thursday versus Chicago, while Ek has been sidelined since earlier in the week.

Why it matters: Kaprizov leads Wild scoring, and Ek anchors the center depth, penalty kill, and faceoffs, making their absences a major blow. Without them, the Wild lost to Chicago, extending a frustrating home losing streak. In a tight Central race, a few points behind Dallas, extended time out could drop them in standings and affect betting lines.

What to watch: Watch for return updates and lineup changes ahead of next games; monitor Wild's performance sans stars in playoff push.
