What happened: Kawhi Leonard was on the floor putting up shots at Toronto Raptors training camp as his return for the 2026-27 season moves into on-court work. The veteran forward is set to begin his 16th NBA season after rejoining Toronto and finalizing a multi-year extension in September.

Why it matters: The camp session shifts attention from contract terms to Leonard's second stint with Toronto and how the Raptors build around him in the preseason. That matters for a roster reshaped around his return ahead of the 2026-27 season.

By the numbers: Leonard is entering Year 16 and agreed to a two-year, $115 million extension with a player option in late September.

What to watch: Next up is whether Leonard remains a regular part of camp work and appears early in Toronto's preseason slate. Those first exhibition decisions should offer the next read on how quickly the Raptors want the group to come together.
