What happened: The Toronto Raptors travel to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night without Kawhi Leonard, who is sidelined due to left knee injury management. Toronto enters the matchup looking to control tempo through the possession battle. Los Angeles counters with an aggressive takeaway defense that relies heavily on center Walker Kessler.

Why it matters: Leonard's absence places additional playmaking responsibility on Toronto's backcourt against Los Angeles' opportunistic perimeter pressure. The game gives the Lakers a home test against a playoff contender while challenging Kessler to protect the interior without fouling. Securing possessions will determine whether Los Angeles can run in transition or get slowed into half-court sets.

What to watch: Tipoff is scheduled for Sunday at 9:00 PM ET in Los Angeles.
