Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Sep 71 min read

What happened: Travis Kelce is back for a 14th NFL season, while Aaron Rodgers has said his 22nd will be his last. Myles Garrett is set to debut with Los Angeles after an offseason trade.

Why it matters: The veterans face distinct tests: Kelce's role, Rodgers' final championship bid and Garrett's immediate pass-rush impact. Their performances could shape contenders in both conferences.

By the numbers: Rodgers needs 13 touchdown passes to pass Manning for third all-time with 540. Kelce is entering his 14th season; Rodgers is entering his 22nd.

What to watch: Week 1 will offer the first measure of Garrett's fit and Rodgers' final-season form. Kelce's workload will show how his role has evolved.
