What happened: Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash summed up his pregame formula to Bob Nightengale: "Early runs and get the crowd behind us." The postseason contest is scheduled for tonight and has not started yet, with the score at Milwaukee Brewers 0, Tampa Bay Rays 0.

Why it matters: Scoring in the opening frames would energized the home crowd after Cash previously addressed Tampa Bay's offensive approach. Fast production at the plate also eases pressure on the pitching staff in an October matchup.

What to watch: First pitch for Game 3 is scheduled for Monday evening in Tampa Bay.
