What happened: Chris Haynes highlighted Kevin Durant's sustained scoring production entering the 2026-27 season. The conversation arrived during the final days of the NBA preseason.

Why it matters: All-time scoring placement is a durable historical marker separate from single-season form. His player option for next season keeps his longer-term trajectory in focus.

What to watch: The next marker is where Durant stands once regular-season scoring begins.
