What happened: J.J. McCarthy, Marvin Harrison Jr., Joey Porter Jr. and Gervon Dexter Sr. already changed teams ahead of the window. Dallas Cowboys sit 2-3 after dealing for Broderick Jones.

Why it matters: A midseason quarterback shift resets depth charts and 2027 cap sheets on both sides. The middle-class logjam forces 2-3 clubs to choose between compensatory picks and immediate return.

What to watch: Contender needs and seller declarations sharpen as results sort the middle class.
