What happened: Klay Thompson recorded 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists as the LA Clippers struggled in coverage during live action. The Clippers lost track of Thompson on perimeter rotations down the stretch. The contest remains active as Los Angeles works through a difficult stretch.

Why it matters: Los Angeles entered the game with a 1-6 record through seven games in the 2026-27 regular season. The defensive lapses add pressure to a roster seeking consistency early in the year. Thompson entered Thursday averaging 13.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists through 8 games this season.

What to watch: The Clippers look to shore up perimeter rotations as the regular season continues.
