What happened: Thompson drained the decisive shot in extra time after Miami and Los Angeles entered overtime tied at 107. The veteran guard generated 27 points to push the Heat past the Clippers in the closing seconds.

Why it matters: The clutch performance reinforces Thompson's offensive role since joining the Miami Heat ahead of the regular season. His perimeter spacing provides late-game stability for a rotation navigating contested fourth-quarter finishes.

What to watch: Miami continues its regular-season schedule as Thompson looks to build on his season-best perimeter shooting display.
