What happened: Philadelphia visits New York for the middle game of the opening-night tripleheader. Jose Alvarado's daughters were with Alvarado and Hart and Towns ahead of the championship ceremony.

Why it matters: The banner ends a 53-year drought without a title. A win over Philadelphia gives the repeat bid an early Eastern Conference marker.

What to watch: Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, followed by Thunder-Spurs at 9:30 p.m. ET.
