What happened: Wiseman had been expected to continue his career in Europe earlier this summer. Instead, he heads to camp competing with Drew Eubanks for a frontcourt opening as New York fills the last two spots on its roster.

Why it matters: Mitchell Robinson and Ariel Hukporti left in free agency, leaving Andre Drummond as the main reserve big behind the Knicks' starters. That vacancy matters on a title-defense roster that is also bringing Bruce Brown, John Konchar and Ochai Agbaji into camp competition.

What to watch: Camp minutes will show whether New York wants a third center or uses one of those openings on more wing depth. Eubanks is the clearest direct competition for the reserve-big job.
