What happened: New York is using camp to sort through its last openings after losing Mitchell Robinson and Ariel Hukporti in free agency. Wiseman enters that mix alongside Drew Eubanks on the center line, with Bruce Brown, John Konchar and Ochai Agbaji also competing for jobs.

Why it matters: The move gives the defending Knicks another low-risk look at size after opening camp with two roster vacancies. Andre Drummond is in place as the backup center, but New York still has room to add depth behind its frontcourt before the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Training camp should clarify whether New York keeps an extra center or uses one of the final openings on the wing. Wiseman's clearest path likely runs through Eubanks if the Knicks reserve one spot for a big.
