What happened: Seattle dropped its preseason meeting with Vegas, with its only goals coming in the third period. Shane Wright and Jared McCann supplied the late tallies as the Kraken cited inconsistent finishing all night.

Why it matters: The finish underscores Seattle's early preseason search for consistent five-on-five scoring ahead of 2026-27. Late production from two returning forwards gives coaches a concrete evaluation point amid camp roster sorting.

What to watch: Seattle moves on to its next preseason test with further lineup evaluations to come.
