What happened: Detroit's coach said Dylan Larkin will miss Thursday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Pierre LeBrun said trade talks have escalated but a deal is not imminent.

Why it matters: Larkin's offseason trade request preceded this lineup decision. His no-move clause gives him a say in his destination, and he has reportedly expanded the list of teams he would accept.

What to watch: Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff is expected to address Larkin's situation. Detroit hosts Chicago at 7:30 p.m. ET.
