What happened: Kyrie Irving is slated to return to action after sitting out the entire 2025-26 campaign. The guard enters the new slate ready for tipoff on Wednesday.

Why it matters: Irving brings championship pedigree from his 2016 title run and a 23.7 career scoring average back to the floor. His availability follows an offseason in which a full ACL recovery made a trade unlikely despite external interest.

What to watch: Irving is scheduled to take the court when the new slate opens on Wednesday.
