What happened: Mike LaFleur said Beck had returned to full practice and was operating as he had before his absence. The coach declined to commit to a starting opportunity for the rookie this season. Why it matters: Regular-season preparation limits the work available to developmental quarterbacks. Gardner Minshew holds the backup role, making practice opportunities a constraint on Beck's continued development.
