What happened: The Los Angeles Lakers edged the Orlando Magic 105-104 on Luke Kennard's buzzer-beater. Luka Doncic received his 16th technical foul in a double-tech with Goga Bitadze after the Magic center allegedly trash-talked Doncic's family in a foreign language refs didn't understand. Lakers coach JJ Redick announced an appeal, which the team has already filed, seeking review of Bitadze's unpunished comments.

Why it matters: NBA rules mandate a one-game suspension for the 16th technical if not rescinded, sidelining Doncic for Monday's game at Detroit. Amid a 46-25 record, nine straight wins, and grip on West's No. 3 seed, his absence challenges playoff positioning and depth.

What to watch: League appeal decision expected within 24-48 hours. Monitor Lakers-Pistons lines and Doncic status.
