What happened: Caleb Williams (.300) and Jared Goff (.290) round out PFF's top five quarterbacks in expected points added per play for the 2026 regular season. Only .090 EPA per play separates first-place Jackson from fifth-place Goff, with Purdy and Allen separated by just .010 in second and third.

Why it matters: Jackson has overtaken Purdy, who paced the NFL at .550 EPA per play in early October, pairing the league's top per-play efficiency with his 91.4 PFF offensive grade from Oct. 6. Williams's .300 mark places the 2024 No. 1 overall draft pick in the top five alongside four veterans after he recorded 3,942 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions across 17 games in 2025.

By the numbers: 2026 NFL QB EPA/play leaders (per PFF): Lamar Jackson (.380), Brock Purdy (.350), Josh Allen (.340), Caleb Williams (.300), Jared Goff (.290). Top-five 090 EPA/play.

What to watch: Sustaining a .340-plus EPA per play into November will keep Jackson, Purdy, and Allen at the center of the 2026 MVP race.
