What happened: Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson told teammates he intends to return later this season. Jackson delivered a message to "just stay alive" while he recovers from a right thumb injury. Baltimore placed Jackson on injured reserve on Nov. 5.

Why it matters: The Ravens lost 33-10 to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 5, increasing pressure on quarterback Jacoby Brissett to keep Baltimore in the playoff hunt. Jackson's late-season availability depends on his recovery and whether the team stays in postseason contention.

What to watch: Baltimore turns to Brissett under center as Jackson begins a minimum four-game stint on injured reserve.
