What happened: LAFC honored Leo Walta with the club's October Goal of the Month award following his first two strikes in Black and Gold. After arriving on loan and earning dead-ball duties, Walta opened his club account from distance in the 46th minute on Oct. 18 before adding a 63rd-minute tally on Oct. 25.

Why it matters: Walta's rapid integration as a set-piece specialist and long-range threat gives LAFC an added scoring option from midfield entering the 2026 MLS postseason. His October surge coincided with the club rallying from a 2-0 deficit in a 2-2 draw to clinch its playoff berth.

What to watch: LAFC enters the opening round of the 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs with Walta established in the rotation and on set-piece duty.
