What happened: Regina Pats forward Liam Pue has established himself as an early candidate to be a top pick in the 2028 NHL Draft, according to Sportsnet. At 16 years old, he has quickly emerged as one of the Western Hockey League's most dangerous offensive players.

Why it matters: Pue's rapid progression provides Regina with a cornerstone talent as the franchise builds in the junior ranks. Establishing draft pedigree at 16 positions him as a primary focus for NHL scouting staffs tracking the 2028 draft cycle.

What to watch: Regina continues its WHL regular-season schedule as Pue looks to sustain his early-season scoring pace.
