What happened: The New York Liberty will seek their third head coach in three seasons after the organization parted ways with head coach Chris DeMarco. DeMarco guided New York to a 26-18 record and the No. 8 seed in his only season at the helm.

Why it matters: The move marks continued instability on the New York sideline following consecutive one-year tenures. Establishing leadership is the central priority as the franchise prepares its roster for the 2027 campaign.

What to watch: The Liberty begin an immediate search for their next head coach ahead of the 2027 WNBA season.
