What happened: The Denver Broncos leaned on head coach Sean Payton's guidance to secure a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Payton urged the roster to never look up during the fight, emphasizing down-to-down focus in the rivalry matchup. Denver carried that mentality through regulation to defeat Kansas City.

Why it matters: The outcome tightens the AFC West race as Denver continues to establish its identity under Payton. Overcoming the Chiefs marks a critical divisional step for the Broncos while Kansas City works to resolve recent stumbles. Sustaining composure against perennial division contenders reinforces Denver's position in the conference playoff hunt.

What to watch: Denver looks to maintain its momentum in upcoming AFC play. Kansas City turns its attention toward roster adjustments and offensive corrections ahead of the trade deadline.
