What happened: Howard Megdal highlighted the New York Liberty's championship success following the franchise's sale by Jim Dolan. The comments come as the team continues its strong 2026 season under Liberty Governor Clara Wu Tsai.

Why it matters: The Liberty won their first WNBA title in 2024, ending a championship drought that spanned the entirety of Dolan's 22-year tenure. The ownership shift to the Tsai family in 2019 is frequently cited as the catalyst for the team's rise to elite status.

By the numbers: The Liberty enter tonight with a 9-5 record and a five-game winning streak. They lead the WNBA in scoring at 87.0 points per game, while the Dream stand at 9-4 with a scoring average of 84.5.

What to watch: The Liberty face the Dream tonight in Atlanta as they look to extend their current winning streak to six games.
