What happened: Miami Marlins shortstop Otto Lopez continued his torrid stretch with an RBI single to give Miami an early 1-0 lead. The base hit marks another productive plate appearance for the league's leading hitter as the Marlins look to build on their recent momentum in the series finale.

Why it matters: The early production from Otto Lopez is critical for a Miami lineup seeking consistency amid a 32-35 start to the season. Lopez entered the day leading the National League in batting average, solidifying his case for an All-Star selection as the Marlins' offensive anchor.

By the numbers: Lopez leads the National League with a .341 batting average and has collected 28 RBIs through 65 games. The Marlins (32-35) enter the matchup on a three-game winning streak and are averaging 4.3 runs per game this season.

What to watch: Miami looks to maintain their early advantage as the matchup continues at loanDepot park.
