What happened: The Los Angeles Dodgers were named finalists for the 2026 National League Offensive Team of the Year on Thursday. Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani and teammate Max also secured nominations as NL Silver Slugger Award finalists.

Why it matters: The recognition extends a decorated award cycle for Ohtani, who is also a finalist for the 2026 NL Most Valuable Player Award after winning the honor in consecutive seasons. The offensive team nomination reflects a Los Angeles lineup that anchored the club throughout the 2026 campaign.

What to watch: Major League Baseball will announce the Silver Slugger and team award winners ahead of the MVP unveiling later this month.
