What happened: Luka Doncic has recorded a game-high 50 points along with 10 assists and 7 rebounds with the fourth quarter still in progress. His eighth three-pointer extended the Los Angeles Lakers' advantage over the Utah Jazz in the closing stretch.

Why it matters: Austin Reaves has contributed 29 points alongside Doncic's double-digit assist total, directly countering offseason skepticism over how the Los Angeles guards would share the ball. Utah has stayed within single digits behind 28 points from Lauri Markkanen.

By the numbers: Luka Doncic: 50 PTS, 7 REB, 10 AST. Austin Reaves: 29 PTS, 1 REB, 4 AST. Lauri Markkanen: 28 PTS, 6 REB, 1 AST. Score: Los Angeles Lakers 131, Utah Jazz 123 (in progress).

What to watch: Play continues late in the fourth quarter as Los Angeles looks to protect its lead over Utah.
