What happened: Malachi Toney scored late in the fourth quarter to give Miami a two-score lead over North Carolina. The late drive extended the Hurricanes' advantage to 10 points following a three-touchdown performance from Mark Fletcher Jr. in Chapel Hill.

Why it matters: The road victory keeps Miami in contention atop the Atlantic Coast Conference standings as the regular season enters November. Securing the late margin against the Tar Heels bolsters Miami's postseason resume in a high-leverage conference matchup.

What to watch: Miami continues its ACC schedule next week looking to maintain position in the conference championship race.
