What happened: Toronto Maple Leafs general manager John Chayka stated via Yahoo Sports that no player on the roster is untradeable while endorsing head coach Jim Hiller's handling of Gavin McKenna. Chayka also praised the impact of Easton Cowan, whom Toronto previously held out of defense trade talks.

Why it matters: Chayka's openness to moving any roster piece keeps Toronto active in the trade market even as the front office values young contributors like Cowan. Publicly backing Hiller's management of McKenna underscores alignment between the front office and coaching staff on developing the Maple Leafs' young talent.

What to watch: How Hiller deploys McKenna and Cowan in Toronto's upcoming scheduled matchup will offer the next look at the Maple Leafs' young forwards as Chayka evaluates potential roster moves.
