What happened: The Sacramento Kings exercised the third-year contract option on Nique Clifford.

Why it matters: The move keeps Clifford, whom the Kings named a starter, under team control on his rookie-scale deal.

What to watch: Clifford continues in Sacramento's rotation as the Kings move forward in their regular-season schedule.
