What happened: Bournemouth have officially confirmed that defender Marcos Senesi will depart the club as a free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season. The Cherries announced the news after four seasons with the centre back on the south coast. Reports indicate Senesi intends to remain in the Premier League by joining another club.

Why it matters: Losing a first-choice centre back on a free transfer is a significant blow to Bournemouth's squad planning, removing a composed defender without a transfer fee in return. The club had reportedly offered multiple big-money deals over the last 12 months to keep him, signaling his importance to the backline. His departure forces Bournemouth into the centre-back market this summer and reshapes their defensive depth heading into next season.

What to watch: Watch for which Premier League club secures Senesi's signature and how Bournemouth move to replace him in the transfer window. Official confirmation of his next destination is expected in the coming weeks.
