What happened: Dan Quinn ruled out Jayden Daniels for Sunday, leaving Washington with Mariota under center for the overseas matchup. Mariota started 11 games for the Commanders in 2025 and completed 139 of 227 passes for 1,695 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Why it matters: The switch settles Washington's quarterback plan after Daniels carried a questionable tag earlier this week. It also keeps the focus on Daniels' recent elbow issue as the Commanders manage their starter through the regular season.

What to watch: Watch Washington's next injury update for Daniels after the London trip. Mariota's workload Sunday will shape how quickly the Commanders can turn the offense back over to Daniels.
