What happened: The Miami Marlins are placing outfielder Owen Caissie on the injured list with right calf tightness. Caissie exited the previous game early after experiencing the issue. Rece Hinds is being called up to the major leagues in a corresponding roster move.

Why it matters: Caissie has been a driving force for a Miami team riding a five-game winning streak. The 51-42 Marlins will rely on Hinds to help offset the production loss in the outfield.

By the numbers: Over his last 15 games, Caissie posted a .324 batting average, a .381 on-base percentage, four home runs, 11 RBIs, and a 1.057 OPS.

What to watch: Hinds joins the active roster ahead of Thursday's scheduled game.
