Ketel Marte's leadoff homer ties Paul Goldschmidt for the 2nd-most hits in D-backs' franchise history with 1,182, traili Via @BNightengale on X

What happened: Ketel Marte opened the game with a leadoff home run, the hit that pulled him even with Paul Goldschmidt for the second-most in Arizona history at 1,182. Only Luis Gonzalez, with 1,337, has collected more hits in a Diamondbacks uniform.

Why it matters: The milestone underscores how central Marte has become to the franchise, drawing level with one of its most decorated bats. Climbing past Goldschmidt would leave only Gonzalez ahead of him on the all-time list.

By the numbers: Career Diamondbacks hits: Luis Gonzalez 1,337 (1st), Ketel Marte and Paul Goldschmidt 1,182 (tied-2nd). Marte reached the mark with a leadoff home run.

What to watch: Watch whether Marte passes Goldschmidt outright in the coming games, leaving Gonzalez as the lone name ahead of him.
