What happened: Matisse Thybulle said being placed in a disruptive role at a young age and receiving recognition for those efforts pushed him to pursue loose balls even more aggressively. The reflection followed his defensive hustle play matching up with Rui Hachimura.

Why it matters: Generating deflections and loose-ball recoveries remains the calling card for a defender who previously noted that NBA defense starts with staying solid. Turning active hands into extra possessions gives his rotation role a distinct identity.

What to watch: Thybulle will look to carry that disruptive defensive energy into upcoming regular-season matchups.
